The South Webster Cross Country Team had a great opportunity this past weekend to volunteer at the 2nd Annual Senior Olympic Games held in Portsmouth, Ohio. Members of the team registered athletes and timed all track events. They also worked at the refreshment tent and hung medals during the award ceremony.
Wendy Waugh, organizer of the event and head of the SOMC Life Center and Cancer Treatment center, said, " We couldn't have done it without the kids. They were great!". Sam Bollers, a 90 year old participant, couldn't say enough great things about the kids. He has competed in events for 45 years. "These kids allowed me to be a winner again. I want to thank them for being so kind to take their time and share it with us today".
