GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
ODE Graduation Requirements by Graduating Class
The Ohio Department of Education has set Graduation requirements for each graduating class. This information changes over time so it’s good to check this site yearly. Information about alternate pathways for graduation is included. Please note that South Webster’s graduation requirements may vary. Information about those is located in each students agenda. Please see contact the guidance office for more information. Please also note that students and parents play an instrumental role in making sure the students graduation requirements are being met.

State Testing Requirements to Graduate High School
In addition to taking various courses that are required for graduation in Ohio, students must earn 18 points on their End-Of-Course exams (also known as EOC’s or Ohio’s State Tests). Please review this information carefully to keep track of your students’ progress towards meeting these requirements.

A 529 Savings Plan
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required to be offered any financial aid to help students pay for college. It is also required to be eligible for many scholarships. The FAFSA opens in October each year and should be completed before February 1st of the year students plan to attend college. The earlier this is completed the better.

The FSA ID is required for students in order to complete the FAFSA and go to college.

TESTING
ACT Information and Registration
In order to prove students are college ready, they must register for and take an ACT exam. High ACT scores can greatly improve students chances of getting scholarships to pay for college. Students can set up an account and register online. The ACT is offered at South Webster High School in October, December and April to students of any grade level who sign up. Students in the 11th grade are given the ACT each February for free during the school day.
ACT Academy is free and can help students practice their skills and prepare to take the ACT test.
The Accuplacer test is given to who want to qualify for CCP classes the following school year. Students who have already taken the test are not required to take it again unless they are hoping for better scores to qualify them for the CCP program or for particular CCP classes. Students sign up through the guidance office if they wish to take the test. Students can practice their skills before taking the Accuplacer test which will be given at the high school on February 19, 2020 during school hours. Students will not be permitted to test if they did not sign up ahead of time. Students may also sign up to take the Accuplacer on the Shawnee State campus.
The ASVAB Career Exploration Program test is given yearly to 11th grade students and interested 12th grade students. Scores on this test help students understand their academic strengths and weaknesses as well as careers they may be interested in. Scores on this test are also used to qualify students to enter the military.
Information about getting a GED Diploma. GED classes are offered at South Webster. Please contact Paula Baumgardner at the South Central Ohio Educational Service Center for information on enrolling in these classes. Paula's email is paula.baumgardner@scoesc.org.
COLLEGE CREDIT PLUS (CCP)
All students interested in participating in CCP during the 2023-2024 must complete the online application(s), Letter of Intent and meet qualification criteria. Students and parents who are new to the program must attend the CCP Infomation Session that happens each winter. This year the meeting takes place on December 7th from 6-7 PM. Students and parents who have already participated in the program aren't required to review it because they have already seen the presentation. Any student interested in taking the Accuplacer to qualify for certain CCP classes at South Webster, should contact Mrs. Ashley via email or sign up at the high school office. Accuplacer testing in our building on January 24th. Current CCP students do not need to take the Accuplacer unless they are attempting to qualify for courses they previously weren't eligible for (example: CCP English). Students who miss our Accuplacer testing should contact Shawnee State University to set up testing on SSU's campus. The Letter of Intent deadline for CCP deadline is April 1st. Late Letters of Intent and/or applications WILL NOT be accepted. Please contact Mrs. Ashley if you have any questions.

Educational Options and Credit Flexibility
Credit Flexibility applies to any alternative coursework, assessment and/or performance that demonstrates proficiency qualified to be awarded equivalent graduation credit as applied for and approved in advance by the school district. Approved credit awarded through this policy will be posted on the student’s transcript and counted toward student grade point average (GPA), class rank and as graduation credit in the related subject area or as an elective
