From Coach Jason Baker:
JEEPS SKATE PAST MOHAWKS 44-39
The Jeeps improve to 11-2 on the season with a very good win at Northwest. The Mohawks found a way to hold JJ to single digits...put him through the wall. JJ scored 4 points in the first half of the first quarter before hitting the deck which ended his game. He tried coming back in the 3rd, but was in too much pain. The Jeeps stepped/slid up their game on perhaps the slickest floor ever played on. Maybe skates would've been more appropriate for this game. Tanner led the pack of Jeeps with 22 points and organized a press that created 13 team steals. Tanner ended the game with 6 very important boards as 4 of them came on the offensive end. Tanner usually makes 9 out of 10 free throws every practice and he repeated that performance again tonight! Cayden picked up two quick fouls in the first half which placed him on the bench to find weaknesses from the Mohawks. He got his chance back in the second half and grabbed 4 steals turning them into 7 points. Gabe Chapman also had 4 steals, but earned his 4 points in the post taking it strong to the hole. Skyler's 4 points came from assists as he was playing the post as well. Westley had a great game with 3 points and a rebound. He may not stat well at times, but he is very valuable to us with his quickness and ball pressure. I believe we are beginning to trust each other more and understand what role we play on the floor. Aidan and Lane both got the start tonight and earned some rebounds and steals even though they didn't get in the scorebook. Billy, Josh, Timmy and Kyle also got to put time in and participate in this victory over the Mohawks. We had a tremendous team effort. Next week we play Oak Hill away on Monday and at home on Thursday as we prepare for the SOC Tournament the following week.
I would say #1, but our 11-2 Jeeps have the #2 seed....it's the 9-4 *inford Falcons in the #1 spot
