Good morning Jeep Nation! We hope everyone out there had a great weekend. We may be a little light on updates today, but we have one great news article that we are sure you are going to love!
Our Lady Jeeps are going to start tournament play this week. They will face either Western or Eastern Pike and will be playing at 1:00 p.m. at Northwest HS on February 18th. Good luck Lady Jeeps.
The boys will be in action tomorrow, February 14th, against Portsmouth at home. They will face Oak Hill on Friday, February 17th. Both contests will start at 6:00 p.m. They boys drew the 6th tournament seed and will face Whiteoak on February 22nd. The game will be at 8:00 p.m. at Northwest High School.
Jason Baker, 6th grade teacher and Jr. High Basketball Coach, sent us some very nice pictures and a story to go along with them:
“On Saturday, we had a workday for the 6th grade Tim Horton’s project of landscaping the K-3 courtyard.”
Sounds like a short story, but there are more pieces to the tale, Sandy Smith, our Elementary Principal had a story as well:
“It started with a Jason Baker vision to improve the courtyards at the elementary school.
The past few years Jason's classes have worked on cleaning up and improving our courtyards. After attending a leadership camp at Tim Horton's Camp Kentahten this fall, Jason Baker and his students have been making plans for more improvements.
On Friday our PTO was given a very generous donation from a family in the community. Today, several folks showed up to start making this vision a reality.
Thank you to all who helped, either financially or physically. Nothing is easy and nothing is free. Both the physics labor and the monetary donation are needed.
Here are some of the things that happened today.”
Those things were pretty special. The now clean courtyard will be awash in color come spring for our students to enjoy. Thank you Coach Baker and everyone who helped make this project a reality!
Well Jeep Nation that is our weekly update. We will be back later this week with our mid-week update and maybe some pictures or other items. We hope you have a great week and as always…GO JEEPS!
