Good morning Jeep Nation. We are back. We have much to talk about this morning. Sports updates, events during the week. It’s going to be a busy one. Let’s get started!
Our picture above is from Mrs. Nikki Johnson’s advisory which won the high school volleyball tournament after nine weeks testing. Congratulations to them on their hard work. On that note the 8th grade won their powder puff football game over the 7th grade at the end of their nine weeks testing, We hope you all had a great time, blew off some steam and are ready for another nine weeks. Pictures to come soon for the football game. Good luck to all of our students!
Young Life is hosting a dodgeball tournament this evening from 7-9 p.m. in the Jr. High Gym. Teams from grades 7-12 and teachers are encouraged to participate. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Howe at the high school for information.
Sports for the week:
Monday-7th Grade Volleyball @ Minford-6 p.m., 8th Grade @ Minford-7 p.m. (Tournament Games)
Wednesday-Volleyball vs. Clay @ Jackson-6 p.m.
Thursday-Soccer vs. Ironton St. Joe-5 p.m.
The UCAN Go to College night will be held at the SOMC Friends Center on Thursday, October 24th from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Currently 45 colleges, career centers, and military representatives are registered to attend. Along with colleges and universities located in Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia, admission representatives from schools in Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and South Carolina have also registered to attend.
The target audience is 7th through 12th grade students, parents, grandparents, teachers, school administrators, any and all persons interested in attending post-secondary training.
The ACT will be held here at SWHS on Saturday. Make sure you have your calculator and photo ID. If you do not have a photo ID see Miss Judy in the office.
Today also marks the first day of the 2nd Nine Weeks grading period. The grading period goes from today through December 20th.
