From Mrs. Large:
My students were given a big task for their assignment this week. Mr. Rogers said ""When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, 'Look for the helpers. You will always find people helping'". They were told that times of crisis are often accompanied by Americans coming together. They then had to research a major event in American History (Hurricane Katrina, 9/11, etc.) and find a video/picture/article about everyday Americans who went "above and beyond" what was expected of them. Write a short reflection on why this picture/video/article caught your attention. Then, they were told to get to work. They had to look outside the box to help others or lift spirits during this time. I'm including pictures for you. Please do not feel like you have to use all of the pictures...and I think it's pretty cool that one of our students rode around in a car as the Easter bunny and waved to people.
