Good morning Jeep Nation and happy Monday. We are back with some news and information from around the district. Let’s get started!
The Lady Jeeps fell on Saturday to a very good Warren team 57-41. They play tonight at home vs. Northwest. There will be no JV game before so the varsity contest starts at 6:30 p.m. They play Thursday at Oak Hill with only two JV quarters with a normal start time of 6:00 p.m. The Lady Jeeps also play on Saturday vs. Portsmouth with two quarters of JV starting at 4:00 p.m.
The boys lost a close game on Saturday 61-51 against South Point. They play Tuesday at Valley, Friday vs. Portsmouth West, and Saturday vs. Notre Dame. No modifications to games with JV.
The elementary music program, “Christmas Around the World” will be Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. All students involved should report to the elementary at 6:45 p.m.
Pre-sale tickets for students district wide will be $3.00 on game days. We personally would love to see a huge cheer block at all the home games cheering on our Jeeps!
All prom candy bar money must be turned in by December 20th. Keek still has boxes in her room that need to be sold. If anyone in the community is interested in buying World’s Finest candy bars please see a junior or Keek.
Spirit Week will be January 10th, 11th, 16th, 17th and 18th. Homecoming will be January 19th. More info to come from Keek closer to those dates.
The band is selling their raffle tickets for baskets through this week. Each ticket is $2.00 and all proceeds go to the band program. See a band student or Mr. D for tickets.
Mrs. Mays and Mr. D would like to thank everyone who attended our annual Christmas concert. The number of people that came out was great and the support was amazing.
We have some class news from Mrs. Large. It all sounds pretty interesting!
My psychology classes have just finished up the consciousness unit. They conducted a sleep lab and have been tracking their sleep to better understand the effects of sleep deprivation and the importance of healthy sleep habits.
The US History classes have been creating memes to show America’s involvement in WWI. They have shown a lot of creativity through this project.
Several students from the Be the Change group recently volunteered their time helping Mylee’s Missions prepare for their Christmas event. The event was held last Saturday and over 800 people were present to receive coats, food, toiletries and many other items. A big thank you to those students who gave up their time to help!
December is blazing by us. It is going to be a quick month with so much going on. Stay tuned for news and updates as we get them. Gave a great week Jeep Nation and as always…GO JEEPS!
