Good morning Jeep Nation and Happy Tuesday. We hope you had a great weekend! We have a large amount of news, updates and schedule changes that need to get out today!
We are going to start our week with a story about one of our juniors! Sam Holstein was recognized at the All Ohio Soccer Banquet on Saturday, 1-6-18. The Jeeps Soccer Team was the first team in school history to win back to back District Titles and the 2nd team in school history to make it to the Elite 8 at the Regional Finals. Go Jeeps!
That was a great lead in story written by Mr. Scott Holstein, former BVES principal and current Assistant Superintendent at the ESC. Great job of representing us Sam! Now on to more sports news.
The boys play at Wheelersburg tonight and at Waverly on Friday.
Our Lady Jeeps play at West on Thursday, and play Valley here at home on Saturday. The Saturday contest will begin at 5:00 p.m. which is an hour earlier than normal start time.
The Junior High basketball games that were scheduled for January 8th are now rescheduled for Monday, January 29th.
The Midterm schedule has been changed due to the missed day yesterday. Here is the new schedule.
Wednesday-Periods 1,5,8
Thursday-Periods 2,6,7
Friday-3,4
Regular Schedule Remainder of Friday
Spirit Week is also upon us. Here is the rundown from Keek:
Thursday, Jan. 11th - PJ day
Friday, Jan. 12th - Twin day, Big Mo eating
Tuesday, Jan. 16th- Occupation Day, Hot dog eating
Wednesday, Jan. 17th - Color War (7th- blue, 8th - purple, freshman - White, Soph - gray, Juniors - red, Seniors - Black, and staff- neon) and fear factor
Thursday, Jan. 18th - red black and white day and relays in the afternoon.
There will also be a change drive for points during Spirit Week this Thursday through next Wednesday. All proceeds will go to the Boggs family. Grade levels will be pit against each other throughout the district. It’s great to see such spirit in a time of need for a family.
Homecoming will be next Friday, January 19th. We have a great picture of our Homecoming Court that will go out on Friday. The Homecoming Dance will start after the Valley contest and will last until midnight. If a student wishes to bring a student from another school to the dance, they must get a form from the office and have it signed by the other school’s principal. Those letters must be in by next Wednesday, January 17th. No faxed letters will be accepted and we will not fax letters out. Cost of the dance is $5.00
There will be no school on January 15th in observance of Martin Luther King Day. No school for students on January 19th for a Waiver Day.
That’s all we have for now Jeep Nation. We will have more Homecoming news on Friday along with any other news our Tech Team finds in the district. We hope you have a great week and as always…GO JEEPS!
