March 23rd Weekly Wrap-up

Good morning Jeep Nation and Happy Friday! We hope you had a great week and are looking forward to the weekend. The picture above is from some of our Jeeps at the State House learning about how our government works at Youth and Government. We will have a full story next week. Let’s get started with our news and recaps for the weekend.

Keek sent us a nice story about the Renaissance trip from last weekend. We believe it deserves its own space. We will have that up this afternoon!

Baseball and softball kickoff tomorrow at noon vs. Whiteoak at home. Come out for opening day and support our Jeeps!

Tim Horton's Camp is next week. Students should have been given information for those who are going. If anyone has any questions, contact the elementary school.

Tickets are still available for the Claxon Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre tomorrow. Get ahold of Mrs. Kate Claxon for information!

Mrs. Darcee Claxon has some information for Parent/Teacher Conferences next week:

We will be hosting a silent auction the night of Parent/Teacher Conferences on March 28th. The proceeds will benefit our trip to Europe in the summer of 2019. If any of you would like to donate an item or know a business that might be interested, please let me know. The students are also getting donations/items to be auctioned off. If you would like to donate and item for a specific student, please let me know. Whatever bid is placed on that item, that money will be paid to their account as a payment towards their trip. The money will not go directly to them. Otherwise, the money will be divided evenly between those students participating in the fundraiser. Currently, we have 24 students who are signed up and making payments to go and a few others who are fundraising in hopes of going.

Tracy Collins, our librarian, will be hosting a financial literacy event on April 19th for any of our seniors that wish to participate. It will involve how to budget, juggle payments and how to balance needs and wants. The event begins at 8:30 a.m. and will run until 11:00 a.m. If you would like more information leading up to the event some handy activities can be found here: http://moneyandstuff.info/

Next week students will have school Monday and Tuesday. There will be a Waiver Day and Parent/Teacher Conferences next Wednesday. No school for students that day and conferences will begin at 2 p.m. Conferences will end at 8:00 p.m. and Easter Break runs from Thursday, March 29-Monday, April 2nd. Our schools will resume classes April 3rd.

Looking ahead:

Waiver Day/PT Conferences-March 28

Spring Break-March 29-April 2

Thats all we have for now Jeep Nation. The end of the year is slowly creeping up on us and we will keep everyone up to date on everything that is going on here at Bloom-Vernon. Have a great weekend and always...GO JEEPS!
