Good afternoon Jeep Nation. We hope you had a great Thanksgiving Break. We are back. Can you all believe we are only 4 weeks to Christmas Break and the end of the 9 weeks? It’s going to be a whirlwind. Basketball has begun and we all know that here in Jeep Nation we love our basketball. Here is the rundown for the week.
Lady Jeeps JV won 48-1 and our Lady Jeeps Varsity won 54-43 on Saturday against Glenwood. They play Thursday at Waverly and home against Fairfield (Leesburg) on Saturday.
Our boys start their season on Saturday against Glenwood.
The annual Christmas Parade will be held this Saturday at 11 a.m. starting at the fire station. The marching band will be performing. Santa will be there saying hello to the little ones and there will be food and drink for sale. It should be a pretty nice time so come out and see the band perform, see all the other units in the parade and enjoy some time at the new fire house.
Also on Saturday there will be a chili cook-off and Christmas auction being held here at the high school. The event will start at 4 p.m. Here is the info from Mrs. D. Claxon:
$10
Includes 6 samples, a bowl of your favorite chili, a peanut butter sandwich, a bottle of water, chips, dessert, entry ticket for door prizes, and voting tickets. Tickets can be purchased by students going on the trip.
A silent auction of decorated Christmas tabletop trees and wreaths will be conducted as well
Have an amazing chili recipe? Enter your chili! There will be three categories: traditional, non-traditional, and spicy. You will need to provide two crockpots of your chili and someone to man the station. Contact Darcee Claxon at darcee.claxon@bvjeeps.org or 740-778-2320 to enter.
That’s all we have for now Jeep Nation. We hope you have a great week and as always...GO JEEPS!
